Doctorate Programs :

How long is a PhD programme?

The PhD program is a 2 year plus program. The first year of the programme is dedicated exclusively to courses and second year onwards is for the dissertation. Please note that you have to complete this program in a maximum of 4 years; after which you will have to apply for reregistration.

Since I already hold a Masters / CA / CFA; may I be exempted from some courses?

We do not grant any exemptions prior to admittance. In some instances, however, candidates may be exempted from certain required courses in which they demonstrate advanced knowledge. These exemption requests have to be submitted to the course instructor and be approved by the PhD programme's Academic Director. If approved, alternative work is proposed.

Can I apply even though I am not working currently?

Absolutely, however admissions are granted by the admissions committee and their decisions are final and binding.

Is it possible to apply for a PhD program even if I am not based in India?

Absolutely, the fee structure and program structure may differ. Please speak to the coordinator / director admissions for further details.

I am presently working, and I would like to know whether I could do a PhD on a part-time basis or via distance learning?

Yes, this program is conducted with the right mix of self, online and classroom study.

Do you offer a PhD curriculum on-line? Any interactive lectures online?

Yes, lecture notes and study material will be made available online so that the students may read and discuss with other students at their convenience.
Interactive lectures will also be conducted using online mechanism. This is to ensure students get a chance to interact with world class faculty and guest lectures outside of their city of residence from across the world.

What is the deadline for PhD application?

I only have a bachelor’s degree; may I apply to the PhD Programme?

Nope, a master’s degree is a pre requisite. However In exceptional circumstances the university may consider.Also we have other programs which will help you in your career ambitions. Please speak to the coordinator for details.

Is work experience a requirement?

No, we do not require work experience for admission as per the university guidelines. However work experience is preferred. And helps you score additional points in the entrance exams.

What is the mode of learning? Is this distant learning?

IIIBSR students get the advantage of a right mix between class room study, online, self-study, case studies, book reviews and research based study.Interactions with mentors, advisory board and an excellent peer group are an essential part of the learning experience.Moreover we have many lectures / interactions with industry leaders based across the world which makes it imperative for us to use internet extensively.

When can I expect an answer for my application?

The Admissions Committee will review every application. Deserving student applications are also discussed with the scholarship committee. Typically, the process takes anywhere from 2-7 days.If you have not heard from us regarding the status of your application, it is because a final decision has not been reached.  We would request you to be patient and keep in touch with the directors admissions. We always communicate the final status to all applicants once the admissions committee has finalized their decision.

Can I reapply if my file has been rejected?

Yes, you may reapply one more time. However we insist you speak to the director admissions before your application.

I am not sure about the field to apply for. May I apply for two fields?

If unable to decide on one field of interest, let’s say between FOM and IB; we would advise you to speak to some of our professors to help you narrow your selection.

Is an interview with a candidate a compulsory step of the admissions process?

Interviews are a necessarily a component of the Admissions committee process for all applicants. However the decision of the admissions committee is final and admission may still be granted without one.

Academic Calendar

Admissions are open two times a year.
Batches start in April & October
Depending on vacant seats & availability of mentors / advisors, the management may initiate new batches in January & July.
Forms are accepted for April batch from January onwards and for October batch from July onwards.

Are IIIBSR programs recognized?

Yes, most of our programs are offered in collaboration with leading Universities which are known for their quality of education.

Further with such an excellent board of mentors and advisors from across the world; we are a truly global institute.

PLACEMENTS :

Does IIIBSR guarantee placements?

Yes for some programs.
However given that our institute is the first and probably the only institute dedicated to Investment banking, family office management and strategy we find very high interest levels from multiple corporates.

Further our unique methodology makes sure that every student forms the right network with the peer group and mentoring board.

Sponsorships & Scholarships:

Do I have to be financially sponsored to be accepted to a program? 

No, Sponsorship is not essential.

What are the fee structures for the courses or certifications? 

Tuition prices are announced in every season of each year. Current tuition fee, wherever not mentioned can be obtained by sending an email to directoradmissions@IIIBSR.com

Should I contact faculty prior to admission?

We do not recommend, nor is it necessary, to contact faculty prior to admission. Our faculty / mentors receive hundreds of emails from prospective students and regret that they are unable to respond to all. Moreover, for admitted students, faculty advisors are chosen by the Academic Director.
Prospective students are encouraged to speak to the associate dean and the admissions coordinator / director.
